The State Government is expanding the Gas Heater Rebate from 1 April 2005 to assist  choose a more sustainable form of heating.

The Rebate is available to customers who fall within the TXU or Powercor electricity distribution areas, and electricity, wood, oil or LPG are their only sources of heating.

The Rebate is available on selected gas space (room) heaters that have a 4 or 5 Star Rating as well as gas ducted systems that have a 5 Star Rating for energy efficiency.

The gas heating can be fuelled by either natural gas or LPG depending on whether you are connected to the natural gas network.(Note: LPG space heaters must be flued).

The rebate is available from PRINTZ PLUMBING where the Rebate amount is deducted from the purchase and installation cost of the selected heater. Rebates upto $1000 are available. 

The Rebate is NOT available for homes that were built or had commenced construction after the 1 July 2003.

Rebates of upto $700 also apply to selected gas water heaters that have a 5 Star rating purchased from 1 April 2005 . The Rebate is available for households that currently use a ‘day rate’ electric water heater (a water heater that is ineligible for an off-peak electricity tariff) or a water heater fuelled by wood.
